Quite impressive ins't it, Apple's market cap is now standing at $150bn, just a few inches off IBM's $157bn !
Easy bet that Cupertino will very soon surpass Big Blue.
It's time to view the below video again, which dates back to fall 1983 : that's my all time favorite where Steve Jobs' presentation charisma appears exceptional, with an awe-inspiring inner drive that has the potential to change the world...unlike many traditional seasoned politically-correct corporate executives !
When you see such a guy, you realize he has a clear vision, he has guts, he has an inner fire, and you just think that with the right management around him he should reach the sky !
$5bn in 1997, $150bn today, the guy has created $145bn tangible value in a decade. And that can be fully traced to him, no other CEO can claim the same achievement in the world.
"It is now 10 years later, the late 70s, in 1977 Apple, a young, fledgling company, on the West Coast invents the Apple II...".
"...It is now 1984, it appears IBM wants it all ! Apple is perceived to be the only hope to offer IBM a run for its money". "IBM wants it all and is aiming its guns at its last obstacle to industry control, Apple..."
A few strong magical words to illustrate Apple's positioning : a young, brave, different company, competing against the "evil", IBM, and its monopolistic views on the computer industry...
